Janis MARTIN : the Blanco
Sessions ( Cow Island Music -2012) , album co-produit par Rosie FLORES. Entre ces 2 musiciennes c’est une longue histoire
d’amitié depuis leur complicité musicale sur l’album de Rosie FLORES
« Rockabilly Filly »(1995) ; depuis cette date Rosie a toujours
eu envie de produire un album de Janis
MARTIN. En 2006 Rosie rentre à Austin et retrouve son ami producteur Bobby
TRIMBLE ( batteur du groupe de Big SANDY) ; ils réunissent la crème des
musiciens d’Austin : Dave BILLER (guitare) , Beau SAMPLE ( basse), et T
Jarod BONTA ( piano). En Avril 2007 Janis MARTIN entourée du groupe enregistre
11 morceaux en 2 jours à BLANCO ( Texas) : le résultat est
superbe !!! Encore une fois des reprises ….mais quelles reprises… ! Ecoutez
« As long As I’m Movin », « Wham Bam Jam »,
« Wild One » , « It ‘ll Be Me » ou le superbe « Oh
Lonesome Me”…!
Quelques
mois après l’enregistrement Janis téléphone à Rosie FLORES pour lui
annoncer que les médecins viennent de lui diagnostiquer un cancer à un stade
très avancé….( elle meurt 4 mois plus tard..).Le pire c’est que depuis 2007
Rosie FLORES fait le tour des grands labels pour leur proposer cet
enregistrement ….aucun n’en a voulu prétextant le fait que Janis ne pourrait
pas en assurer la promo… !!! Finalement dégoutée Rosie a décidé de sortir et produire cet
enregistrement elle-même avec le label Cow Island Music : heureusement que
ce petit label a fait le travail que les autres n’ont pas eu la décence
d’accepter…. !! Honte à eux.. !!
Janis Martin: the Blanco Sessions
(Cow Island Music -2012), an album co-produced by Rosie Flores. Between these
two musicians is a long history of friendship since their musical complicity on
the album Rosie Flores' Rockabilly Filly "(1995) and since then Rosie has
always wanted to produce an album of Janis Martin. In 2006 Rosie returned to
Austin and finds again his friend producer Bobby TRIMBLE (drummer of Big SANDY)
they meet the elite of Austin musicians: Dave BILLER (guitar), Beau SAMPLE
(bass), and T Jarod Bonta (piano ). In April 2007 Janis MARTIN surrounded by
the group recorded 11 songs in 2 days in BLANCO (Texas): the result is amazing!
Once again there are a cover versions.... but what covers! Listen to "As long As I'm Movin", "Wham Bam Jam," "Wild One,"
"It'll Be Me" or the beautiful "Oh Lonesome Me"...!
A few months after recording Janis
call Rosie Flores to tell her that the doctors just diagnose cancer at an
advanced stage .... (she died 4 months later ..). Worst is that since 2007
Rosie FLORES toured the major labels to offer them this recording.... none of
them were interested claiming that Janis could not ensure the promotion...! At
the end Rosie was disgust, she decided to leave and produce the recording
itself with the label Cow Island Music: fortunately that small label did the work that the others
did not have the decency to accept .... ! Shame on them .. !

Rosie FLORES CD “Working
Girls Guitar” sorti en Septembre 2012 sur le label Bloodshot records (basé à
Détroit). C’est le 11éme album de la « Rockabilly Filly » qui chante
, compose et joue de la guitare en virtuose. Toujours la même qualité musicale
avec en prime des reprises superbes de «Too Much » et de « Drugstore
Rock’n’Roll » titre phare du répertoire de Janis MARTIN …comme par hasard…. ?
Dommage qu’il n’y ait que 9 titres sur cet album….un peu
trop court …j’en attendais plus.
A noter aussi la
superbe ballade « Love must have passed me by »

"Working Girls Guitar" released in September 2012 on the label
Bloodshot Records (based in Detroit). This is the 11th album from the
"Rockabilly Filly" who sings, composes and plays the guitar virtuose.
Always the same musical quality with the added bonus of superb covers "Too
Much" and "Drugstore Rock'n'Roll" as hit song of Janis Martin
... by chance .... ?
That is a pity that
there are only nine songs on this album .... little too short ... I expected more.
Also note the
beautiful ballad "Love must have Passed me by"

Daddies : CD « I’ll Get It Right » sur Rhythm Bomb records
-2007. Artiste australien , auteur
compositeur : sur les 17 titres de l’album 15 sont de lui ( les 2 autres étant
des reprises de Johnny BURNETTE et Groovey Joe POOVEY) , des titres composés
entre 2004 et 2006. C’est du Honky-Tonk/Rock superbe accompagné par des musiciens de qualité : écoutez les rock doux comme
« Your Mama’s Got Plans » , « Baby I’m Yours » ou le
country/honky tonk « Right or Wrong »…c’est superbe !!!

Australian artist, songwriter: of the 17 tracks on the album are 15 of them
(the other two being covers of Johnny BURNETTE Groovey Joe Poovey and)
compounds titles between 2004 and 2006. This is accompanied by Honky-Tonk/Rock amazing
quality musicians: listen to soft rock as "Your Mama's Got Plans",
"Baby I'm Yours" or country / honky tonk "Right or Wrong" …awesome

ACE and the Dukes ( CD 2010 sur le label
Rebel Music) : c’est le groupe de Stéfan PFEIFER à l’origine batteur du groupe
the Badland Slingers. De 1996 à 1999 il fonde le combo Jimmy CASTLE and the
Knights dont 4 titres figurent en bonus sur ce CD. Ensuite son projet l’amène à
fonder le groupe Warren ACE and the Dukes : sur le CD il y a 16 titres
tous composés par Stefan PFEIFER , beaucoup de rocks doux comme « Our
Dreams », « Love Burns » , « Tell Me » et le honky

Warren ACE and the Dukes (CD 2010 on
the label Rebel Music): This is the group of Stefan PFEIFER originally the
drummer Badland Slingers. From 1996 to 1999 he founded the Jimmy CASTLE combo
and the Knights including 4 bonus tracks included on this CD. Then the project
led to the founding group and the ACE Warren Dukes: on the CD there are 16
songs all composed by Stefan Pfeifer, many soft rocks as "Our
Dreams," "Love Burns", "Tell Me" and honky tonk / rock

contrebasse et chant ) , Steve ( guitare et chant ) et Mac ( batterie) .Encore une fois que des
reprises bien faites comme leur version du « Rock’n’Roll »( de Led
Zeppelin) , « Proud Mary » ou les excellentes versions de « Never Can Tell » ou
« Johnny B Good » de Chuck Berry…C’est vraiment bien joué avec la
belle voix de Steffy Lou…

légendaire guitariste texan nous
livre là une suite à son précédent album sorti en 2010 et déjà diffusé à
l’époque dans mon émission. Jimmie VAUGHAN
s’est fait connaitre en tant que co-fondateur des Fabulous Thunderbirds
dans les années 70. Avec sa bande de potes il reste rock’n’roll du début à la
fin …mes préférés : « I Ain’t Never » , « Breaking Up
is Hard to Do », « I’m a Love You » ou la version live de
« Shake a Hand »…des titres qui fleurent bon la Louisiane et le Goldband sound.. !

guitarist delivers there a sequel to his previous album released in 2010 and
already released at the time in my show. Jimmie VAUGHAN became famous as
co-founder of Fabulous Thunderbirds in the 70s. With his band mates he remains
rock'n'roll from the beginning to the end ... my favorite: "I Ain’t Never",
"Breaking Up is Hard to Do," "I'm a Love You" or the live
version of "Shake a Hand" ... that smell sweetly of Louisiana and
Goldband sound .. !

SUNRISE CD autoproduit( 2007) “the way
that you smile”. Ce CD est un hommage au
groupe allemand the Tielman Brothers qui
a été le groupe qui a le plus influencé l’histoire de la musique rock en
Allemagne. Quelques reprises très bien faites de Gene VINCENT , Chuck BERRY ou des Beach Boys et
d’excellentes compositions personnelles
du groupe comme « Andy’s Rock » ou « Goodnight Little
Suzie » ( à noter la superbe guitare de Patrick Kerger) ;

The Netherland group self-produced CD TJENDOL SUNRISE (2007)
"That the way you smile." This CD is a tribute to the German group
Tielman Brothers which was the group that has most influenced the history of
rock music in Germany. Some well done covers Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry and the
Beach Boys and excellent personal compositions of the group as "Andy's
Rock" or "Goodnight Little Suzie" (note the amazing guitarist
Patrick Kerger);
