Memphis Tennessee comes back for a new season as from Sunday, October 07th 2012
BRANDI and the BAD CATS
1) CD 2004 « Mama Rock » sur le label Mustang
pour ce groupe australien composé de Brandi
CERRETO (basse et vocal) et Reno CERRETO ( lead guitar) enregistré à
Melbourne : quelques reprises de Janis MARTIN avec « My Boy
Elvis » et « Drugstore Rock’n’Roll ». Parmi mes préférés
aussi : »Talk to Me », « the Stroll »(inspiré par le
film « Américan Grafitti »)et « Dance Teacher ».
2) 2eme CD du groupe (2010 « Rock my World » label Mustang records) enregistré cette
fois-ci à Brisbane. Le son et les titres sont beaucoup plus rock/pop. Mes titres
préférés : « Cool Put Crowl », « Célia » ,
« Still my Baby » et un bon slow-rock « Just like in the
Movies »

2nd CD of the group (on 2010 " Rock my World " label Mustang record)
recorded this time to Brisbane. The sound and the titles are much more rock /
pop. My favorite titles: " Cool Put Crowl ", "Celia",
"Still my Baby" and a good slow dance-rock "Just like in the
Movies"

CD ROLLIN Records (automne 2012) avec
« the Outer Zone » excellent surf rock instrumental par le
multi-instrumentiste Andy WREN ( superbe son qui rappelle un peu celui des
Ventures ). Le groupe Keith TURNER and
the Southern Sound : 2 titres très rock : « Cadillac Walk »
et la superbe reprise de « Heart of Gold» un rock médium avec une superbe
guitare au twangy sound.
The SIROCCO Brothers qu’on retrouve aussi avec
plaisir sur le label ROLLIN records avec 2 titres très dansants :
« Flying Saucers » et « Stomp »
CD
ROLLIN Records (autumn, 2012) with “the Outer Zone " excellent
instrumental rock surfing by the multi-instrumentist Andy WREN (superb sound
which calls back a little The Ventures). The group Keith TURNER and the Southern
Sound: 2 titles very rock: "Cadillac Walk" and the superb covers of
"Heart of Gold" a rock medium with a superb guitar in the twangy
sound.
The
SIROCCO BROTHERS which we find with pleasure on the label ROLLIN record with 2
very dance titles: "Flying Saucers" and "Stomp"

autoproduit 2007 “Horse Power”. Trio américain emmené par Jim Rotramel (
chanteur et guitariste) rock et quelque fois un peu psychobilly….Mes titres
préférés : »Firecracker Cadillac », « 66 Newport
Blues », Circle the Wagons » ou « Five-star Rockabilly
band ».Un CD très dansant , et un bon climat musical.
2) 2éme CD du groupe : « Daredevil
Action »( 2010 ).Jim Rotramel est
maintenant entouré par 2 nouveaux musiciens et le CD est cette fois-ci plus psychobillyque le précédent. 11
titres sur ce CD et seuls 4 trouveront leur place dans ma programmation :
« Bubba Blackwell », « Hop On Baby », « Ready to
Go », « Bo the Steer »).

JIM and the Number 9 Blacktops.

CD selfproduced on 2007 "Horse
Power". American trio taken by Jim Rotramel (singer and guitarist) rock
and some time a little psychobilly . My favorite titles: "Firecracker
Cadillac", "66 Newport Blues ", Circle the Cars "or"
Five-star Rockabilly band ". A very dance CD, and a good musical climate.
2)
2nd CD of the group: Jim " Daredevil Action " ( 2010 ) Rotramel is
now with by 2 new musicians and the CD is this time more psychobillyc the precedent.
11 titles on this CD and only 4 will be in my programme: "Bubba
Blackwell", " Hup On Baby ", "Ready to go", "Bo
the Steer").

STEPHAN « you Got it !.....a Salute to Roy Orbison” double CD de 2011
sur IGN records. Avec ce titre ….c’est
forcément un CD en hommage au grand Roy Orbison…qui bénéficie en plus d’une
présentation par Wesley Orbison (fils de Roy)….et la voix d’or de John STEPHAN
est superbe sur ces titres ( 20 reprises de Roy sur le CD 1) ; le 2éme CD
est composé de 5 titres avec 2 duos et
le titre « Crying » repris en version espagnole , acoustique et pop.
Toutes les reprises sont excellentes avec des merveilles comme :
« its too soon to know » , «Crying » , « Blue Bayou » ou
« Cry Softly Lonely One » etc…..ce CD est une pure merveille…encore une
fois une exclusivité Memphis Tennessee.

STEPHAN "You Got it! A Salute to Roy Orbison" double CD of 2011 on IGN
records. With this title, it’s really a CD in tribute to the great Roy Orbison
who benefits besides a presentation by Wesley Orbison (Roy’s son) and the
golden voice of John STEPHAN is superb on these title (20 Roy's covers on the
CD 1); the 2nd CD composed of 5 titles with 2 duets and title
"Crying" in Spanish, acoustic and pop version. All the covers are
excellent with some jewels like: "Its too soon to know",
"Crying", "Blue Bayou" or "Cry Softly Lonely One"
etc... This CD is a pure marvel once again, an exclusivity Memphis Tennessee.

GHIA and the Hot Rods ( CD 2009 « Go,Go,Go !” sur le petit label Bip
records). groupe anglais de 4 musiciens emmenés par le super vocal
punchy de Carmen GHIA. Des titres rock /bluesshouté/jump très dansants …la voix
de Carmen est superbement black et les musiciens enchainent 13 reprises de standards de façon magistrale
(mes préférés : « That’s All » , Hot Rod Baby » ,
« Bang Bang » ou «My Baby left Me »….).

GHIA and the Hot Rods (CD 2009 " Go, Go, Go! " On the small label Bip
records). English group of 4 musicians taken by the vocal punchy high-octane
gasoline of Carmen GHIA. The titles rock/ bluesshouters/jump very dance. The
voice of Carmen is magnificently black and the musicians chain up 13 covers of
standards in a masterful way (my favorite: "of That’s All", Hot Rod
Baby","Bang Bang" or" My Baby left Me ".).

WHITE LINES : « Ready to Rock »( CD 2002 sur REBEL music) . Le groupe s’est constitué depuis 1988 (voir le programme de
Juin) autour des 3 frères TESCH ( Brend, Carsten et Olaf) qui ont composé 10
titres sur les 16 présents sur cet album très rock. Mes préférés :
« Had a Dream », « Ready to Rock », « Never
thought », “Is it Love” et “Rockabilly Mama” ces 2 derniers titres d’ailleurs déjà presents sur la
compilation diffuse dans le programme de Juin.
The
WHITE LINES: "Ready to Rock" (CD 2002 on REBEL music). The group
established since 1988 (see the program of June) around 3 brothers TESCH
(Brend, Carsten and Olaf) who composed 10 titles on 16 presents on this very
rock album. My favorite: "Had a Dream", "Ready to Rock",
"Never thought", "Is it Love" and "Rockabilly Mama"
these last 2 titles already presents on the musical program of June.

CUNTRY DIKTATOR : CD « Cunts’n’Roses »
sorti en 2012 sur le label allemand Rebel music . C’est du country-rock un peu
déjanté, avec une ambiance musicale et un son unique en son genre grace à la
présence d’une trompette qui donne à la musique de ce groupe un coté Tex Mex… Mes titres préférés :
« 2 Girls Blues », »Anna » , »the
Boondocks »,”And the Train Rolls On”
CUNTRY DIKTATOR: CD "Cunts’n’ Roses" released in 2012 on the
German label Rebel music. This is country rock music a little removed, with a
musical atmosphere and a unique sound thanks to the presence of the trumpet
which gives to the music of this group a a great Tex mex sound... My favorite
titles: "2 girls Blues", "Anna", "the Boondocks",
"And the train Rolls On"
The MAGNIFICATZ : mini CD 4 titres sorti en
2010 pour ce groupe anglais rock et quelques fois légèrement psychobilly. Mes titres
préférés : « Bop with my Baby » , « Dead man’s Ball »
et « Cat Come Scratchin » . ( ce mini

MELANIE ROSE DYER : CD 2011 sur Sugarplume
records label basé à Brentwood aux USA. Une découverte grace à Country Hot
disc. 11 titres sur ce CD tous composés par Melanie Rose ; l’ambiance
musicale est country-rock , bluesy et quelques fois rythm’blues. Mes titres
préférés : « Too Fast for Traffic » , « First Time in
Forever» et “Get Out of my Own Way”.
MELANIE
ROSE DYER: CD 2011 on record Sugarplume label based to Brentwood in the USA. A
discovery thanks to Country music Hot disc. 11 titles on this CD all composed by
Melanie Rose; the musical atmosphere is Country rock, bluesy and several times
rhythm' blues. My favorite titles: "Too Fast for Traffic",
"First Time in Forever" and "Get Out of my Own Way".
