RIP MASTERS : « Bare
Knuckle Piano »(CD Rattler records-2010). Excellent
pianiste de boogie woogie et en même temps bon guitariste, Rip Masters avec ce
récent CD de 18 titres nous régale encore une fois les oreilles. A noter une
superbe reprise de « Rose of Love » de Gene Vincent et le titre
phare qui donne son nom à l’album « Bare Knuckle boogie »…. parmi mes
préférés « Don’t Dog this Cat », « Lucky
Devil », « Tonight I’m gonna play for you »….. et plein
d’autres compositions de Rip Masters. Un achat conseillé….

tracks treats us once again ears. To note a magnificent cover of "Rose of
Love" of Gene Vincent and the track which gives its name to the album
"Bare Knuckle boogie ". My favorite "Don’t Dog this Cat",
"Lucky Devil", "Tonight I' m gonna play for you" … and more
other compositions of Rip Masters. A recommended purchase.

Best of RIPSAW Records (volume 1) sur le
label allemand Part Records (2011) : compilation qui regroupe des
enregistrements exceptionnels (du
mythique label américain Ripsaw) qui
s’étalent des années 1976 aux années 2010 avec au menu de ce CD des grands noms
comme Billy Hancock and the Tennessee Rockets , Tex Rubinowitz ou Marty Brom.
C‘est la qualité absolue et la grande classe musicale .( on attend d’ailleurs
avec impatience la sortie imminente du volume 2 sur Part records).
The Best of RIPSAW Records (volume 1) on the German label Part Records (2011
): compilation which includes exceptional recordings (of the mythical American
label Ripsaw) which spread out from 1976s to 2010s with to the menu of this CD
of the great names as Billy Hancock and the Tennessee Rockets, Tex Rubinowitz
or Marty Brom. It is the absolute quality and the musical top. (We look forward
the volume 2 on Part records).

SHIPLEY and the Sharp Shooters (cd El Toro 2006) : groupe américain basé à
Los Angeles, emmené par la chanteuse Dawn SHIPLEY, guitariste et compositeur de
11 titres du CD. A noter une belle
version du classique de Buddy Holly : « I’m gonna set my foot
dawn ». Un superbe CD avec de très bons musiciens … Mes titres préférés : «Empty Street of
Highway» , «Sealed with a kiss» , «Anyone but you», «My rockin’Baby »
et le titre de l’album « Baby if I…»

CILIA : «Revenge of the surf guitare»(Cd Bombora 2007) par ce super
guitariste australien. L’album est une sorte d’hommage à l’année 1963 qui, en
matière de surf, est une grande année , avec le « Pipeline » des
Chantays ou le « Wipe Out » des Surfaris par exemple…
Que
des titres composés par Martin CILIA (ou par le groupe the Atlantics)… Sur tous
les morceaux Martin Cilia joue de toutes les guitares, de la basse et de
l’orgue…. Du surf instrumental
exceptionnel.
Martin CILIA: "Revenge of

The album is a tribute to the year 1963
which, in surf music, is a big year, with the "Pipeline" of Chantays
or "Wipe Out" of Surfaris for example …
All the tracks are composed by Martin CILIA (or by the group the
Atlantics)… On every tracks Martin Cilia plays all the guitars, the bass and
the organ. Surf instrumental very exceptional.
Jimmy WHITE (CD Two Cities-
2011) : pianiste autodidacte, Jimmy White est très inspiré par les belles
harmonies vocales de Brian Wilson (des Beach Boys). Un cd est enregistré à Nashville , l’autre à Buffalo,
avec plein de belles ballades country qui reposent sur la voix de Jimmy .

2011): a self-taught pianist, Jimmy White is very inspired by Brian Wilson's
beautiful vocal harmonies of Beach Boys. A cd is recorded in Nashville, the

voice of Jimmy.
